Funeral service for Harvey Hanson was held at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, Iowa on June 30, 2023 with Vicar Kim Kacmarynski officiating.

Harvey Blaine Hanson the son of Howard and Lillian (Anderson) Hanson was born February 26, 1934 in Armstrong, Iowa. He died on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville at the age of 89.
Harvey received his education at Halfa grade school and Graettinger High School. He served in the United States Army from 1955 until 1957 where he was stationed in Japan.
On July 13, 1957 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Bonstead. The couple farmed for many years until the fall of 2012 when Harvey retired from farming and the couple moved into Armstrong. For hobbies, he enjoyed collecting antique tractors and motors, Redwing pottery and crocks and spending time at the cabin.
He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong.
Left to cherish Harvey’s memory are his wife, Marilyn of Armstrong; children, Eric (Shelly) Hanson of Emmetsburg; Amy (Roger) Lowe of Estherville; four grandchildren, Hillary Hanson (Chase Westercamp) and Holden (Ashley) Hanson; Krista (Jake) Masters and Katie (Matt) Harris; brother, Harlan (Barbara) Hanson of Florida; brother-in-law, Joe Raffety; sister-in-law, Shirley Schacherer; brother-in-law, John (Margaret) Bonstead; and several nieces and nephews.
He has been preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Alice Raffety, and brother-in-law Louie Schacherer.
