Timely spring and summer rains, and an even timelier early fall, have provided ideal conditions for Emmet County corn and soybean producers.
Doug Hansen, who runs a crop and beef operation north of Gruver, said he was currently picking beans after having put up wet corn for cattle earlier. Even though he grows his corn for feed so moisture isn’t as much of a concern if he was going to the elevator, Hansen said moisture was down to 20 percent.
