Gerald Dean Reimers was born on August 15, 1938, in Fenton, to Edward and Lorene (Holmes) Reimers. He attended Fenton High School and, following his education, entered the workforce.

Jerry spent his early working years helping local farmers and hauling gravel. He later worked for Everett’s Bros. in Lone Rock for five years, where he drove truck. Jerry then began a long and dedicated career with Art’s Way Manufacturing in Armstrong, where he worked for 40 years before retiring. Retirement did not slow Jerry down, as he enjoyed staying busy and continued helping Mark Bollig with spring and fall work. He enjoyed having a reason to get outside, lend a hand, and keep busy.

On January 17, 1962, Jerry was united in marriage to Constance Hatten at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft. Together, they raised four children and built a life centered around family.

Jerry took pride in keeping busy and enjoyed taking care of the chores and working outside in the yard. He especially treasured time spent with his family and the memories they made together. A sports enthusiast, Jerry enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins baseball and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He also enjoyed golfing and making trips to the casino.

Jerry was a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bancroft and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jerry died Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Kossuth Regional Health Center. He was 88.
