Brian Munyer

A graveside service for Brian Munyer, 71, of Ledyard, were held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Bancroft.  Brian died Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Titonka Care Center.

Brian Lee Munyer was born December 6, 1952, in Blue Earth, MN; son of Fred and Eleanor (Sanders) Munyer. He grew up in Ledyard and graduated from Ledyard High School in 1971.   Brian retired from working in 2020.

On February 14, 1998, Brian was united in marriage to Diane Berte at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Together they enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying nature. Brian also loved dancing with his “Princess Diane” on Sunday afternoons.

Brian treasured his faith, family, and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie; his son, Nick; and granddaughters, Lillie, Ellie, and Lacie. Brian was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. 

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Diane of Ledyard; sons, Scott (Stephanie) Vaske of Burt, Nick Vaske of Burt; precious granddaughters, Lilly, Ellie, and Lacie Vaske; sisters and brothers, Monica (Max) Porter of Ames, Lynn Goettsch of Cedar Falls, Mark Munyer of Ledyard, Michelle (Greg) Zierke of Fairmont, MN, Dawn (Tim) Ashton of Lincoln, NE, and Tracy (Denny) Thompson of Ledyard. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Joan (Tom) Kellner of Humboldt, Marita (Jerry Frank) Cook of Thompson, Mary Berte of Burt, Phil (Patty) Berte of Bancroft, Deb (Allen) Kahler of Ceylon, MN, Linda (Keith) Meyer of Phoenix, AZ, Teresa (Steve) Mulligan of Bancroft, Ann Mulligan of Apache Junction, AZ, Ruth (Bob) Nemmers of Swea City, Carl (Jenifer) Berte of Swea City, Steve (Mary Kay) Berte of Lakota, Delta (Mike Kahler) Berte of Lakota, Danny (Pam) Berte of Lakota, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, Fred and Eleanor Munyer; his parents-in-law, August and Eleanor Berte; his brother, Fred Munyer; brothers-in-law, Robert Hiller, Bill Goettsch, Arnie Berte, Edward Berte; and his sister-in-law, Mary (Kenneth) Bergman.
